CAVU Kitchen Bar (Richmond) – Taste The Love With Their Valentines Day Menu

So Valentine’s Day is drawing near and I have a Valentine’s Day preview menu to share with you! It’s from a restaurant in Richmond called CAVU Kitchen Bar. Nestled inside the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel, this restaurant gives me both a feeling of fine dining service and atmosphere, but with an unpretentious casual vibe. I came here to preview their new “Taste The Love” Valentine’s Day menu which will run starting this week from Feb 11th -28th.

First we started with their Lamb Rack Chops ($16) which was rubbed with a mint chermoula and put together with spiced chickpeas, carrot puree, and kalamata olives. I always find chefs flavouring lamb with the same herbs like rosemary but I loved how this one was unique and played with Mediterranean flavours. I would highly recommend sharing this with your loved one!

Now this may look like just a plate of plain old olives but trust me it is not. These are the “Small Plate Spiced Olives” ($6) and the dukkah spice you see on the bottom is just out of this world. When paired with the olives, it makes for an explosion in the mouth. Even if you are not particularly fond of olives, this dish may just change your mind.

The Orange Cake ($9) cocktail from the bar is from the Taste of Love menu and it resembles an orange cake in liquor form! It’s quite strong so use caution. 😛

I’d recommend getting the Lovers Bubble ($12) because it serves two and it’s delicious! Champagne, honey, bitters, lemon zest, what more can you want?

Their Duck Breast ($26) while slightly smaller in portion size that I was anticipating, delivered on flavour. The meat was perfectly cooked and the crispy tuscan kale gave a fantastic crunch. They also make their own spaetzle which is pretty awesome! The Best Among The Best in adult seo https://www.kingofadultseo.com We are very confident in our adult seo skills

Overall we really enjoyed the Artic Char ($25) and we almost liked it more than the duck breast! The sweet potato & jalapeno hash was a delight underneath the fish and gave such a surprising element of heat throughout the meal! Usually Artic Char is paired with light flavours like miso or lemon but having such hearty elements really made this surprisingly unique!

Last but not least, we shared the Ganache Tart ($9). It’s made with chocolate and raspberry mousse, chocolate ganache, blood orange meringue, and vanilla pastry.

Overall, I thought CAVU’s “Taste The Love” menu was very unique and took a different route than the traditional raw oysters and steak for V day. Everything was cooked perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed every course. My standout recommendations would be the olives, lamb chops, and artic char!
