I recently went to @adoniateahouse for their Summer Afternoon Tea with my mom and it was fabulous ๐Ÿฅฐ Their afternoon tea is available for dine-in or takeout, and comes in a regular, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free option!

Their location is in Kerrisdale and it has such a lovely vibe inside. It transports you to a tranquil little cottage and is the perfect place for some girly conversation or mother-daughter time ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ˜š There's another solid Vietnamese restaurant in town!! And I LOVEE how this restaurant caters to both meat eaters and plant based eaters ๐Ÿฎ๐ŸŒฟ

My ultimate reccos include:
โœจ Da Lat Beef Hot Pot ($27) and it's good for 2 people! The 24hr simmered beef broth is refillable and it's to-die for
โœจ Vegan Pho ($15) because it's such a huge portion and their vegan broth is stellar. You won't miss the beef at all
โœจ Skewers ($6 for 3 pieces) - get the Betel Beef and thank me later

โฌ‡๏ธ I've teamed up with @bdvietcuisine to give a MEAL FOR 2 (which includes 2 appies, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and 1 dessert) โฌ‡๏ธ

๐ŸŽ™OH MY GOSH - I HAVE NEWS ๐Ÿ—ฃ #Ad I just trie ๐ŸŽ™OH MY GOSH - I HAVE NEWS ๐Ÿ—ฃ

#Ad I just tried @Silk_Canada's newest plant-based beverage called Nextmilk and IT TASTES SO GREAT with cereal! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

If you didn't tell me, I would've thought it's legit dairy milk. ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿฅ›

It's made from a combination of oat, soy, and coconut, and it's perfect for cereals, chocolate chip cookie sessions, and coffee. It also doesn't have a weird aftertaste at all which is amazing. If you're looking for a plant-based beverage that tastes exactly like dairy... give this a try! ๐Ÿ˜

[ EARLY TALK TUESDAY ]

AM I VEGAN/VEGETARIAN? ๐Ÿท๐Ÿฎ

๐Ÿ‘‰ The quick answer is no, I'm not.

But throughout the past few years, you may have noticed that I post a lot more plant based foods/hacks and promote a lot more plant based companies, and that is for a reason ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŽฅ๐ŸŽฌ After watching a lot of documentaries (and noticing the scary climate change happening all around us, year after year ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ง), I realize that even though I may never get to a point where I can be 100% vegan or plant based, I can do my best to help make personal choices every day that I feel good about, like:

1๏ธโƒฃ Reduce my consumption of meat and dairy as much as I can, especially when cooking at home ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿฅ•

2๏ธโƒฃ Use my platform to spread the awareness of how animal agriculture is contributing MASSIVELY to global warming, and allow others to decide for themselves what they want to do ๐ŸŒŽ

Here are some stats I've learned that might be interesting ๐Ÿซฃ:

๐ŸŒŽ 1 hamburger is equivalent to 660 gallons of water (due to the large amounts of water needed to grow the feed for the cows)

๐ŸŒŽ If we continue the rate of fishing, our oceans will be virtually empty by 2048๐Ÿ˜ฑ

๐ŸŒŽ Animal agriculture is responsible for 91% of Amazon rainforest destruction (they tear the forests down to make land to create food for cows/pigs/chickens)

Here are also some of my favourite documentaries that are extremely eye-opening ๐Ÿฅบ:

๐ŸŽฌ The Game Changes (on Netflix)
๐ŸŽฌ Cowspiracy (on Netflix)
๐ŸŽฌ What the Health (on Netflix)
๐ŸŽฌ Seaspiracy (on Netflix)
๐ŸŽฌ Forks Over Knives (free stream on official website)

โœจ Make sure you do your own research after watching as there are both sides to every story. But even just being aware of some of the urgent problems scientists are telling us is the first step in all of us making better choices that can collectively help the planet ๐Ÿฅฐ ๐ŸŒฒ

Also, plant based food tastes incredible! Just look at all my plant based meals ๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™

โฌ‡๏ธ Have you been trying to eat less meat/more plants lately? โฌ‡๏ธ
