πŸ’ TALK TUESDAY πŸ’ [ STAYING MOTIVATED WITH I πŸ’ TALK TUESDAY πŸ’

[ STAYING MOTIVATED WITH IG]

πŸƒ With everything going on in the world and in your personal lives, I know most people struggle with periods of not feeling motivated πŸ˜”. Not motivated to create new content, to write captions, to post or engage with others on social. Trust me, I've been there πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ

If you're feeling this way, below are some of MY tips to stay motivated:

1️⃣ Post something you genuinely and intrinsically enjoy πŸ’œ

I know most people normally post things they enjoy, but it's very easy to fall into a rut of posting for the sake of obligations, previous collab engagements, or posting for the sake of what will generate the most 'views' πŸ‘€

When you post a photo or video that you genuinely just want to share, whether it's slightly blurry, doesn't fit in your feed, or in ugly yellow lighting, you'll probably be shocked to see that most people just don't care! πŸ’ͺYou'll get the same if not MORE likes/engagement, and you'll intrinsically feel more happy about it. I guarantee it! πŸ”₯And if worse comes to worst, you can always delete it in the future πŸ‘

2️⃣ Use a scheduler and plan your posts ahead of time πŸ“

Some people hate having to post every other day and would prefer to do it in batches. If you're one of these people, I'd recommend using @plannthat or @latermedia to schedule your posts and captions ahead of time. That way you just need to do it once a week (or less), and you'll get to spend more time OFFline! These tools have gotten so good now that they can help you automatically post stories, IG posts, and videos with hashtags and all that jazz at the day/time of your choosing πŸ₯°

3️⃣ Just post on IG stories

⭐ IG stories are so much easier to post (and they only last 24 hours anyways) so take a break from posting on your feed but keep consistent with your stories! This way, you will feel less stressed about crafting the perfect post, & it'll keep the engagement with your followers πŸ‘Œ

No matter how you want to do it, just take your time, don't stress yourself out, and even take a one month hiatus if you really need to! ❀️ Your mental and physical well-being is #1. Everything else really does not matter much πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

[ 🌸 PREMIUM UNAGI DON🌸 ] Here is another TA [ 🌸 PREMIUM UNAGI DON🌸 ]

Here is another TAKEOUT SPOTLIGHT and this time, it's of a mom and pop Japanese shop called @takeyasushi! 🍣 I've been a customer for years and they're known as the place you go to get authentic and affordable Japanese eats πŸ‘ŒπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

I got their Large Premium Unagi Don ($22.96) and it was delicious and so so fresh! πŸ₯° I did wish the portion size was a little bigger for the price, but I know they provide great value for some of the other menu items so I might try those next time πŸ‘

Due to covid, they converted their whole restaurant into a pick up area and added some already packaged foods like bento boxes 🍱, appys πŸ—, onigiri πŸ™ for people to just come and grab. Kinda like Izumiya SupermarketπŸ‘

πŸ’ TALK TUESDAY πŸ’ I don't know how to start πŸ’ TALK TUESDAY πŸ’

I don't know how to start this week's Talk Tuesday except to say I'm saddened. πŸ˜” From hearing about the new covid restrictions on banning indoor dining, to seeing surveillance footage of an Asian woman my mother's age get kicked senselessly on the street, to watching documentaries about how the earth is slowly dying due to climate change, it's a lot right now. πŸ’”

πŸ’ I think about all the restaurants that may have to lay off staff for 3 weeks, their perishable meats and vegetables that will now go to waste if not enough people order take-out, and them having to frantically re-adjust everything in a span of a day to keep their business going.

πŸ’ I think about how crazy it is that I still see tons of people not wearing masks. And there is little to no enforcement of that, but instead the restaurants get punished.

πŸ’ I think about how I went to downtown Vancouver recently (one of my few trips to dt), and I actually clenched my fiance's hand really hard as we were walking on the street. If people were standing behind us while waiting to cross the street, I would double check who was behind me and stand farther away. I was hyper alert the entire time because I didn't want us to get punched in the head, pushed, spat on, or physically assaulted. I never thought I would feel that way in Canada, let alone Vancouver.

🌟 Just like the sun that peers through dark clouds from time to time, we will get moments of sunshine. And we're not alone. No matter what, love will prevail over hate. I know it will. If you see someone in distress, PLEASE help and don't have bystander apathy where all the bystanders assume someone else will help because in the end, no one will πŸ™ˆ

⬇️ Please leave some ENCOURAGING words for the future in the comments below ⬇️

Because I need to hear it. And I think you might need to too. πŸ’œ
🍍 Do you enjoy the crunchy crust of Cantonese P 🍍 Do you enjoy the crunchy crust of Cantonese Pineapple Buns (θ θ˜ΏεŒ…,Β bolo baoΒ in Cantonese)?? If you do, you should try @glam_gourmet's Bolo Bangs!!! πŸ‘ They're cookies that taste exactly like the pineapple crust! 🀯🀩

*btw they don't actually have any pineapple in it 🀣 it's just called that because of their looks

🌟 @glam_gourmet also sells 'Bo Deens' which are Cantonese baked tapioca custard desserts that are normally served at banquets 😜 She puts a unique twist on it and creates flavours like Totally Taro, Brown Sugar Boba, and Vietnamese Coffee! πŸ’œ They're super good too and she only makes them 1-2 times a month πŸ‘

πŸ‘‰ SWIPE to see the inside of the Bo Deens!! πŸ‘‰
