Seattle: Best Clam Chowder Ever & Russian Baked Goods

When you visit Seattle, make sure to check out Pike Place Market because
there are tons of places to see (and eat) there! One of the places I
always have to visit is the Pike Place Chowder because they have won numerous awards
for their amazing clam chowder. I agree! They serve the best I’ve ever had.

There is usually a huge line just to order, but during this particular
visit, it was empty! Score!!

They have a variety of chowders including: Clam Chowder, Smoked Salmon
Chowder, Manhattan Clam Chowder, Seafood Bisque, Seared Scallop Chowder… and
much more.

On that particular day, their special ‘chowder’ was the ‘Crab and Shrimp
Clear Chowder’.

We wanted to try everything so the three of us ordered the Four Cup Chowder Sampler
(~$10.00). The Sampler includes four small bowls of chowder (you choose which ones
you want) and it comes with a piece of sourdough bread (meh) and oyster
crackers. We ordered the
Crab and Shrimp Clear Chowder, Seared
Scallop Chowder, the Original Clam Chowder, and the Seafood Bisque.

My favourite is and always will be the original clam chowder. 😛 They
never skimp on the clams and the special ingredient, bacon, really gives the
chowder a nice smokey flavour. The Crab and Shrimp Chowder is very light and
flavourful and is always perfect (I’ve had it twice now). The Seafood Bisque
and Seared Scallop were both good as well but not to the extent of the other
two.

After we finished at Pike Place Chowder, FW, Rae, and I went to Piroshky
Piroshky to check out their Russian baked goods (and continue eating of
course!).

So far, every time that I’ve been to Piroshky Piroshky, I get the Beef and Cheese (~$3.50). I don’t know what it
is, but I love this bun! It always tastes incredibly fresh and there is just so
much filling of cheesey meaty goodness that it’s impossible to resist. *drool*
😀

However, even though I found it absolutely delicious, FW and Rae didn’t
think it was THAT amazing. Maybe it’s cause I hyped it up too much on our way
there. 😛 Whoops.

  • When I was in Seattle for a job interview, I got Piroshky Piroshky cabbage rolls and dessert delivered to my hotel for dinner every night! Haha… soooo good.
